ROUND 2
There are 22 ST1 GP Training Programmes available at East Midlands deanery to commence 5th December 2007. If you are already enrolled/registered on MTAS for Round 1 but have not yet secured a specialty training post, you may now apply for one of these GP training programmes.

If you did not apply to General Practice in Round 1 you will be required to attend an initial GP assessment (Stage 2) on 15th September 2007. Capacity at this assessment is limited to 250 and applications will be considered on a first come, first served basis.

If you have already been assessed for GP in Round 1 at either Stage 2 or Stage 3, you may also apply for one of these GP training programmes. All previous GP assessments scores/results will be carried forward. You will not be able to re-take any GP assessments in Round 2. Therefore, if you failed to achieve the minimum acceptable standard at Stage 2 (initial GP assessment) or if you were considered unsuitable for GP training at Stage 3 (GP Selection Centre), we will be unable to progress your application in Round 2.

TRANSITION POSTS
SHA and deaneries are currently working to identify additional training opportunities for those are have been assessed as appointable but who have not secured either a specialty training programme or an FTSTA. No further information about the availability of such posts is currently available.

If you have already been assessed as suitable for GP training in Round 1 and wish to be considered for any transitional opportunities that become available, you must register your interest, confirm your eligibility and provide us with some additional information by Friday 7th September 2007. Your details will then be checked by this office and passed to the relevant deanery or SHA who will be in touch with you directly. You should do this even if you are also applying to East Midlands in Round 2.
