Transferring to another deanery?

You should NOT apply to a deanery with an expectation that you will be able to transfer to another deanery. The inter deanery transfer system is ONLY available for trainees whose circumstances change while in post.

You can apply for an inter-deanery transfer after you have been in post for 12 months provided you can show that your personal circumstances have changed since appointment. However, inter-deanery transfers are only possible if the proposed deanery has a vacant slot that can accommodate your remaining training requirements. Not all approved transfers will actually be able to transfer.

IDT requests should be made via your current deanery.
