Frequently Asked Questions

back

If I am already on a GP training Programme?

The proper route is to apply for an Inter-deanery transfer if you wish to continue your GP training elsewhere. However, if this is not appropriate, you are able to apply in open competition to another deanery. We only offer training programmes at ST1 entry level, so you would have to apply to a full three year programme. You must inform your current deanery that you are re-applying.

If you have completed 18 months or more in a GP training programme or if you have previously resigned or been released from a UK GP training programme, you may not be able to re-apply. See the National Person Specification and the Eligibility Requirements for more information.
