Are doctors who qualified overseas eligible to apply for GP training?
Yes. You must be registered with the UK GMC at time of application OR
have passed both parts of PLAB and be eligible for UK GMC registration at
the time of application. More
information regarding GMC Registration for overseas doctors can be found
on the GMC website.
You must also be able to demonstrate that you have achieved the
equivalent of a UK foundation programme competencies. See
Eligibility for more
information.
Overseas doctors should be aware that work permits will be only be
issued if there are no suitable applicants who do not require a work
permit.
