LONDON DEANERY
The London Deanery encompasses the majority of the area within the
M25 on both sides of the River Thames and some Greater London suburbs.
The urban geography is diverse and surprisingly green, with more parks
and green areas than any other city of a similar size. London's
population has grown significantly in recent years both from births
exceeding deaths and by immigration with almost one third of Londoners
from non-White ethnic groups. London is very ethnically and culturally
diverse, and has both some of the richest and poorest areas in the UK.
The average price of a flat in London is £321,000, and around one
fifth of all jobs in London are filled by commuters from outside of
the central London area. There is a large network of public transport
in London, which is heavily used. The average Londoner will spend
about 1 month per year commuting to and from work, with each journey
taking approximately one hour.
